Celebrating Record Store Day with Pistonhead Lager

Record Store Day is the one day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion. Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar.

This year Pistonhead Lager has teamed up with Steady Levels Record Label & Rare Records in Kilwinning, Scotland.

Steady Levels X Homage Tees

Clothing brands Steady Levels & Homage Tees are teaming up for a day time party and pop-up shop at One by One Store right in the heart of Soho on Berwick Street. There will have DJ’s all day and Pistonhead Lager have kindly provided the refreshments for the day. There will also be a load of exclusive t-shirts from both camps available on the day.

Rare Records

Performing live at 34 Abbey Green Kilwinning, will be Edinburgh psychedelic rock trio Miracle Glass Company, they will join Glasgow rap heavyweight Loki who will be promoting his fourth coming album ‘Trigger Warning’.

Also on the bill are Glasgow rock outfit Medicine Men performing tracks from their debut album ‘Into The Light’.

Other acts throughout the day include The Miss’s, Tragic O’Hara, while local electro rockers Crash Club will take to the decks for a DJ set to close the event.

Rare Trade’s unique event aims to bring some exciting rare and limited edition records to North Ayrshire as well as showcasing a range of Scottish artists from Kilwinning and beyond.

Shop owner Colin Boyd said:

“It’s important we give something back to our customers and record store days is the perfect setup for that on Saturday 22nd April.”

“The event is free and we plan to have the seating theatre ready to showcase this great new venue. There event starts at 9am, there will be live music from 12pm and everyone is more than welcome to come along and enjoy what we have on offer.”

Pistonhead will be served throughout the day to guests!
