Whilst we sipped on cocktails from Cazcabel & Elijah Craig last week at The Drinks Trust Golden Pineapples Awards 2024 we were overjoyed to be crowned “Distributor of the Year” by charity Patrons Helen McGinn, Andy Clarke & Aleesha Hansel.

A huge yet pleasant surprise, it gave us the opportunity to reflect on the last 14 years and how our business has completely transformed since its inception.

Whilst the size & scale of our operations look quite different to back then, our approach remains the same.

– Relationships are at the core of everything we do. With employees, customers, partners and suppliers.

– We remain a proud independent distributor and true to our core values of collaboration, transparency & long-term brand building.

– We represent a portfolio of incredible brands that continue to invest into the UK hospitality sector.

And we’re so honoured to be recognised by a charity that gives so much back, in fact, The Drinks Trust has been supporting the drinks industry since 1886!

In 2023 they delivered over 5,400 beneficiary acts across financial, well-being and training, with over 70% of the people who sought help currently in work.

Their work in 2023 was delivered in three ways.

Assist: The Drinks Trust supported 2,540 industry colleagues with financial support, which, excluding the pandemic year in 2020, is the highest level of financial support delivered in the organisation’s history.

Restore: Their well-being services, supported over 1,700 people in 2023. The support line received 1,445 calls, and £37,000 was spent providing therapy sessions, mindful drinking support and Insomnia guidance.

Develop: Their education and training service to those in financial hardship continued to grow, with 840 people receiving the industry qualifications to help them with long-term employment opportunity, and deliver skills to our industry. Since March 2022, over 200 individuals have been placed in employment through the referral programme.
